quote:
If you need more information about my experiences .. I have been in Civil Air Patrol for almost 4 years and was in JRTOC throughout highschool..I've been to Cadet Survival Training School, Basic Encampment, Numerous base visits and summer exercises, and have many close friends that are military aviators. I currently hold a staff position with CAP SQ. 45 at MARCH AFB in southern calif. I am also emergency services qualified and am on a search and rescue ground team. I, myself, have been flying for about 2 and a half years. So if you still think my opinions aren't valid then thats your prerogative.

This wasn't referring to my general aviation experience BigThug. I never claimed to be a "qualified military aviator" ... just someone with flight experience and a good idea of what military life is like. You can put words in my mouth, and ignore my statements thats your choice, not mine. When I stated that "At least I'm a pilot" I was retaliating against some biased remarks that were directed towards me. See what bias against ROTC cadets does? I wrote goose an e-mail apologizing for any possible offense that I incurred... he said that I never offended him... so where is your point?

BigThug,

I was retaliating to various labeling/slander directed against me when I made that comment "at least I'm a pilot". That doesn't mean I'm a military pilot, just someone that has researched the subject extensively and has experienced many elements of military life.

I never said I was a qualified military aviator... was that ever one of my claims?

See what bias against ROTC cadets does? I'm already in the military mindset, incase you didn't catch on... I don't think that "pencil pushers" don't have valid opinions... I was just trying to let everyone know that I value the experience of SNCOs and NCOs... you can choose to still ignore my background and my statements, thats a choice... but I am a very team-oriented individual, end of statement.

Nobody made a disrespectful comment towards ROTC or any other Officer training Corps institution. I myself Attended both Naval ROTC, PLC, and Air Force ROTC. I also Served Honorably as an Enlisted Marine. Also add in my 15 years Of commisioned service. But that means absolutely nothing my friend.. Only thing that matters is what respect, repoir I earn each Day. I dont rest on my laurels and I recommend you dont eather. YOu could be a hero yesterday and still people will see you as a shitbag today if that is how you advertise yourself as a character trait. You should learn to trust and respect your pears. Barking up the food chain my friend will do more to end your career than make it. Stand your ground, but dont piss on your toes.

By the way heres my statement again...

quote:
I am happy to see you are persueing an military education as a ROTC Cadet. I hope that you dont feel I am labeling you as unworthy of respect for what you have accomplished to this date. I am only pointing out that There is more tactful and understanding ways to express your arguements

All you have proven so far is that you are argumentitive and crying nobody respects your opinion. My arguement has been to respect others. When you were refered to as a Newbie well you have to be honest with that statement. You are New to this Forum.

This Hazeing will never end, as long as you are jumping up and down like an organ grinder monkey garnering for attention.

Trust me, it's not easy being forged into the military mindset. ROTC is not the Military. Im afraid to say, you will have a painfull adventure ahead of you. It is easy to be hard, but not easy to be smart.

You'll be fine once you get the 2d Louie gene out of you.

Usually takes about three years ;)

Goose,
One, your back is always covered here. I have not personally jumped in on this one but you know I have in the past.
Two, anyone that knows you knows you don't consider pilots pencil pushers. I do think Big Thug is right when he says we all have to push one more than we like. After 21yrs on active duty, HYT is 26 now, I have to write a lot more than I like to.
Three, thanks for backing me up on the parts issue. You have lived the nightmare of having no parts or worse yet your jet being the CANN bird. CANN up is a real bit#h for you crew dogs and I for sympathize.

Snipe,
I don't think he is even a 2nd louie yet. One thing is for sure, he has awaken a sleeping dog and got bit hard. Now the issue is he capable of absorbing this lesson or will he continue to agrue with a seasoned Pilot, Officer, member of the US Armed Forces & Veteran of WT. Time will tell as it takes some longer than others. Tsk, Tsk.

Its cool guys, I'll end this and let you judge me by my acts. If I offended you in the past I'm sorry, it was unintentional.

Bigthug, so you really were a fighter/test pilot? What airframe???

Thanks for the input fellas... I guess I'll have to earn my respect here... thats fine, pretty much classic with any hierarchy... the ones with experience get the respect... all I can do is let time pass and soak up as much knowledge as possible.

And to those that don't know I'm a first year ROTC student with 3-4 years of CAP/JROTC experience... so no, I'm not in the military yet. I am really looking forward to it though, especially if I get a pilot/nav slot. and yes goose, I will park myself in the pocket of my SNCOs =) thats one of the lessons we learned at Luke.

So I guess the only way to get indoctrinated into "the brotherhood" is through interaction and experience... so lets continue and forget about this little ruffle. cool?

quote:
Nevertheless, if you believe that I need to be more tactful with my opinions then that is what is important, and I will do just that. thanks again.

I prefer "Irish Carbombs" Now that is a drink. Of course I took Thug with me and he actually thought we were heading down to the Gaslamp district to incinerate cars. He wa a bit Bummed when it was a Simple Lit Irish Whisky. That is until he felt it go off on the brain Housing Group. I dont even want to discuss what happened afterwords.. Needless to say we RTB'd safely after spending Several hours, Rolling in on Brews, Broads and Burritos. Gotta Love San Diego!!!

Poor thug, guy isnt happy if their isnt any danger involved.

Yup, thread hijacking is a time honored tradition on WT. Welcome, and pull up a chair. Hey 30MM...when are we gonna get started on those staidum seating couches with the build in coolers for the porch?

Some of us(ME ME ME!) get a little pissy when a serious thread is hijacked though, so it is wise to hijack lightly...at least till we all decide we're gonna keep ya. ;)

My stance is that i like you, but i'm not walking or feeding you.

We've assigned that job to Tritonal.
