and a new hulk movie this year...its going to be great!!

The ending of the first Hulk was weak to say the least. It could've been SOOO much better but went stupid at the very end. Coupled with the entire main cast bailing on the sequel, I fear it'll end up like Tim Burton's "Batman" series. When you can't keep any continuity with the cast, and especially the main characters, it's hard for fans to stay devoted.

Gonna slip away from this one and hope the Submariner and some of the other franchises are done well.

The cloverfield monster is totally gay LOLOL but at leaste it's in the Gojira tradition of being kinda familiar but really really huge. Oh btw more than one monster ;-)
and don't eat before you go, the first minutes are a bit overwhelming with some people asking for their money back cause they cant make it through.

I'd take my chances with that last part. I sat through the beginning of Planet Terror and chomped a bucket of popcorn, and deliberately save some for the faux trailer to Thanksgiving.

I saw the movie over the weekend. Pretty decent, very different from the movies that are out there today, so I kind of enjoyed that fact. I thought they captured 'humans' as they would during some sort of monster attack or disaster. Lots of people I've read are bashing it because it's another NYC gets destroyed pic, too soon after 9/11. If anyone is going to see it, apparently in the last scene (one looking out into the ocean on coney island - you can see something shoot down into the water in the right.) don't worry it doesn't ruin anything, but i'm just curious if anyone else sees that, cause I missed it.

Also,...how about the Joker, Heath Ledger, being found dead today? They kept going back to how he was losing sleep and mentally exhausted from playing the Joker. He apparently signed on for some other film and kind of 'kept in' the Joker persona. Wow.

Hey Growler, you were so right that Hulk movie could have been sooo much better, but i'm optimistic that they have learned from their mistakes. I can't help it, i eagerly see all the comic book based movies.

In fact my favorite movie of all time is the Punisher.

Punisher was done VERY well indeed. Too bad Thomas Jane will not be reprising the role. Again I refer to the shame that some continuity cannot be maintained with/for the main/core characters. "Batman Returns" was also done well, I can't wait for "Dark Knight". Fingers crossed for Submariner. The Spiderman franchise has been very decent though I wouldn't go as far as saying it's great. It holds it's own and does well enough for fans to keep their devotion. I would've liked to see Doc Oc return but they finished him off in a 'Darth Vader remembers the good within kind of way' so he was killed off in a good way. Curious if Rhino and some of the other villians from the animated catroons will start showing up if they extend the franchise. I thought it was a bit early to introduce Venom but it holds to form that the Marvel side of things is built around a 3 film main deal. Too early and in a weird way to introduce Phoenix in the X-Men series but now that it's (the series) been put to rest they will do the spin offs. Not the way I would've wanted it, but I guess it will be easier to maintain the core character thing without having to rope so many at the same time for another film, I guess.

Yeah i am said that Thomas Jane won't be playing Frank Castle again, hopefully the next movie will be just as good.

Spiderman was pretty good indeed, but i would have liked to seen more done with Venom (he another favorite of mine) They could have introduced other characters, indeed but Spidey did have some early on fights with venom.

Actually i didn't know they were making a submariner movie. If you have any info on it, feel free to e-mail me Darkstorm928@comcast.net. I'm always up to talking about comics lol

Just one of the places I check in on periodically for news tid-bits: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/1493.asp Obviously their intended schedules are somewhat predictably late, but other than that it's pretty interesting. You can at least get a glimpse of what might be coming down the line in the future.

Another unofficial link: http://www.film-releases.com/movies/sea ... ord=Marvel For stat tracking and some info on upcoming release dates: http://www.boxofficemojo.com/franchises ... comics.htm Pretty good articles from time-to-time here: http://www.firstshowing.net/2007/08/10/ ... g-line-up/

I'd love to see a follow up to Spawn as I think the first one was aslo done pretty well. DarkStorm.........I like that :D

+1 on Spawn I have it on DVD and would like to see more.
I still say Batman Begins is one of the VERY best of the comic book genre and is one of my all time favorite movies. The Shadow and Phantom are really good faves of mine too. Now if I can just find Doc Savage Man Of Bronze on DVD

Bumping this, after lots of talk..some from JJ Abrams himself that a \"sequel\" could be in the works.

Possibly the same movie, but filmed by a different person and a different point of view.

interesting, the movie wasn't bad. It was a pretty decent concept, and a good take on how things/people reacted when something unknown just shows up and is destroying everything. It might be hard to make a sequel without pretty much doing the same thing in a different city.

I can say that it's rumored an alternate version of Cloverfield might be about the guy who is seen filming on the Brooklyn Bridge, and a group of people he's with.
