Yeah, that's really very interesting, Dutchy. I already posted it to my blog: http://warthognews.blogspot.com/2008/11/juggling-act-maintenance-and-operations.html

JJ:
Not sure if there was any sarcasm intended in your post, although on first read there seemed to be...but having people post original links here is quite helpful for some of us. I do most of my A-10 related surfing in spare time at work, where I can't access your blog. It has been mentioned before that there is no need to try to be the first to a story... I apologize if you were solely making mention of your post, but your execution is just a bit off sometimes.

Dutchy:
Thanks for the post. I can tell you firsthand, working through these issues has been rough all the way around, throughout the A-10 community. The issues of only being able to fly a select few jets continue compounding as time goes on, as well. Hopefully it will be sooner than later that we get back around to having a healthy fleet, though!

Hi, TheLastRaven!

My main intent is to document A-10 OEF and OIF combat deployments.

Latest update: http://warthognews.blogspot.com/2008/12/intel-bagram-10-movements-from-ramstein.html

And please forget any sarcasm. You really can't access my blog? Why?

Special thanks for posting the brand-new link \"Web-blog with tons of A-10 news\" http://warthognews.blogspot.com on http://www.warthogpen.com! I would be very grateful for any further first-hand support.

Not a problem but, one thing about your blog that bothers me (besides it being a "spotter" blog but, that's minor issue with me at this time) is your top banner. The A-10 is aligned to the left leaving the GAU-8A smoke ending 2/3 of the way across. Don't you think it would look better if you aligned the A-10 to the right giving the "bullets" a place to go (to the left) and allowing the smoke to end at the right of the page naturally?

Thanks for your suggestions, Joe! I'm also not satisfied with my current header picture. But let me tell you the following:

During a two-month education course \"Online Journalism\" (I'm already 54 years old and I want a new job as an online editor...), I learned a lot about Web 2.0, including blogging. Blogger is a top provider for hosting blogs with a worldwide user community, and also with great support (including feeding Google crawler search routines). BTW: By trying Google for 'Warthog', you will get 'Warthog News' (or sub-sections) more and more on top.

Thanks to my Blogger account (via Google), I was able to put online a new A-10 \"website\" for free - without any costs for domain, webspace and traffic. To create a \"consistent website\", I simply interlinked different blogs.

If you will create a blog on Blogger, you must select a template. I selected a template which looks like a \"normal\" website, and I customized this template on a basic way. Meanwhile, I learned that I can customize some more, but mostly relatet to the main content.

The problem is: In case of the header, I have no further options for positioning the picture (align left or right).

For the future, I really want a new picture for my header... But any new picture must fix the flexible 100% rule to serve any screen resolutions.

In the past, I created website layouts based on HTML tables. But that's over now...

Secondly: The aversion of some Americans to European aircraft spotters is well-known to me. But in fact, these phantastic guys are a very helpful first-hand source to document aircraft movements. And some of them are already official contributors to my blog. Posting of their great pictures would be another Unique Selling Point (USP) of my blog.

Greetings!
Joachim Jacob

JJ,

I think the reason for
I'll use your Quote with a few changes ie spelling
\"\" The aversion of some Americans to European aircraft (And also Asian )spotters is well-known to me. But in fact, these fantastic guys are a very helpful first-hand source to document aircraft movements.\"\"

Is just that Aircraft movements and other things that are I know \"Published\" on the web like \"Inspections, Problems with the A-10 so on.\"
Really don't need to be \"Wide Spread\"as far as \"Tail Numbers and Units\"
and are seen as \"Sensitive \" issues to some in the A-10 Family.
By gathering that kind of information you could actually tell the \"Entire Strength, FMC vs NMCS status and number of A-10's at any given time anywhere. Which then can be used against are forces of need be.
Some of this is \"USAF PR\" released but other stuff by some is \"Trolled off of Private sites and then republished \". Remember the USAF PR department isn't the \"Gods word\" on the A-10 or alot of other things, they have been known to be \"Wrong\".

It's just I guess a \"Pet Peeve\" to some of us who were around \"During the HUGELY AGGRESSIVE OPSEC days\" and this kind of information was \"Classified\".

So that is probably the \"Main Wall\" between Maintainers & Spotters.

I hope that I was able to \"Kinda of Justify\" the \"Cold Shoulder\"

Goose

Hmmmm..................there seems to be an awkward pause between your post Goose and JJ's reply. Wonder what that's all about. Did you ruffle someones feathers again ? That wasn't nice. So here's the question, if Santa Goose is naughty, does he still get presents ? :?: Oh by the way, I've been meaning to give you a ring back. I haven't forgotten its just that I generally need an hour on the phone when I call you. I don't know who talks more. The wife sends her love.

We'll it doesn't matter Bro, it sounds like you need the \"Secession\" to \"Blow-off Steam\" so I'll put my \"VP hat on \" :D and Shut-up

No seriously give me a jingle and I'll call you back I have free long distance 24-7

And Yes , Santa Goose is like the VP President , I have \"Fall Guys\" to cover-up for me when I go to my \"Undisclosed Location\" where the Gifts are made and I get first pick

But I didn't do it to \"Ruffle Feathers\" There is that \"Blue Line\" between the 2 parties lets face it , if it's A-10's or Other Websites, in this case it's
\"Keepers and Peepers\"

Just trying to be \"Santa Goose\" No body this year has earned the
\"AIRBUS Tanker\" in their stocking.

(Yes no more Lawn Darts, Dice and several others have \"Sucked it up\" so at least Santa Goose can do it too so no more \"Lawn darts in Stockings of Bad little Boys and Girls and the TROLLS.
They now get \"The AIRBUS Tanker\" one of those French [spit] [spit] [spit] [puke] things.

Goose
