The -1 model is no challenge to R&R un-like the older model when you had to deal with the two leads, wahers and jamnuts then safety wire the nuts to those two clips.

How does it have a \"USAF Repairable tag\" on it???

Did you see an \"Entire FAN ASSY\" tooo??? I about

If you use to have a \"No Start\" tell the Pilots \"Check Breakers\" etc... and then you open her up Hit it with a Rubber Mallet, and if that didn't work Remove it spray WD-40 in it lube it up check if it's \"Moving \" stick it back on and 8 out of 10 times that worked.

I guess they wouldn't let you get away with that any more??? Probably not even if a \"Squad of Grunts\" pinned down by \"The Bad Guys\" and them \"Yelling for \"Air Support\".

I guess I'd be \"Busted by now\"?

Goose,
That still happens pretty frequently, with a few differences. Obviously, it depends on who is around, first of all. Typically we (they, I guess..) open up the cowls and shrouds, look at the indicator on the starter control valve, and then try tapping the football valve. When the pilot attempts to motor, we will pull that plug out of the bleed air duct going down to the starter and make sure air is making it that far. If not, you give the football valve a little more \"love\". The key difference is it normally gets documented in the forms and super re-ER's the jet, and the valve normally gets changed that night.

Not saying it is the \"right\" way to go about things...but it is effective.

Coach,
Yes it is...I'm still not seeing a resemblance to a football, though. The technical term is \"10th Stage Bleed Air Valve\" though.
