Is it all F-16s or are there still any F-5's left?

Thanks!

Thank you gentlemen. Do any of you know when the F-5 was phased out of the aggressor role?

I think it was around '88 or '89, snipe. IIRC the Navy/Marines used them for a short while after that.

The Navy/Marines are still using the F-5. They fly them out of NAS Fallon in Nevada. I think the ones they are using now were bought from Switzerland a few years back.

When the 527th left Alconbury, they traded their F-5E's for F-16C's and moved to Bentwaters in 88.
They left long before WR's closure in 93 though.

When VF-1 Sundowners converted from F-14's they got F-5's and they are aggressors out of NAS Key West. We flew against them last month.

Actually, it took some time before the Sundowners came up again. After VF-111 Sundowners lost their Tomcats the unit went flat for many years.
For years back VFC-13 from Fallon had detachments with their F-5 jets in Key West which later grow into a new VFC-111 Sundowner squadron at Key West. :)
