Cutting of 250 Aircraft Includes Air National Guard

The FY2010 President's Budget includes an acceleration of the legacy fighter drawdown by retiring 250 aircraft early. This drawdown cuts 32,000 flying hours from the FY2010 operations and maintenance budget, saving the Air Force $355 million. The Air National Guard (ANG) portion of this drawdown includes 57 F-16s and 15 F-15s. Most of these decreases were Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) action divestitures with the exception of the 122nd Fighter Wing (FW), Indiana and the 150th FW, New Mexico who will both be retiring block 30 F-16s. The 122nd FW will be transitioning into the A-10 while the 150th FW's future mission is still to be determined. Many of our ANG fighter wings are looking at losing fighter aircraft this year, but one will be gaining an additional 3 aircraft due to the drawdown actions. The 125th FW in Jacksonville, FL will be gaining three 3 F-15s to increase from 15 Primary Aircraft Authorized (PAA) to 18 PAA.

I was reading the Military times online (USAF Edition) talking about how their going to \"GUTT\" the USAF of its fighter wings almost 500+ jets in the next 2 years.

But after all those F-15's and Lawndarts going to the Boneyard,
They plan on forming a \"New BUFF WING\"???? What they have some 40 year old models around???

Then someone has to blame Clinton (Well its easy) on the Early 90's BRAC. On How He did all those changes in the first BRACS.

Oh , Someone needs to have a history lesson. But It doesn't matter Gates didn't read or wasn't awake during those days because he's going to MAKE THE SAME DAMN MISTAKES.

And a Good Question was rasied

\"Where's the New Tanker Force????\"

Time for someone to get a Real GRIP.

Well, if you don't have anything to tap off a tanker, what do you need the tanker for? Just another way to cut a little deeper.Image

Maybe Gates has read Louis A Johnsons autobiography and decided he was on to something.
