Does anyone know who is making Flight Simulators for the A-10?

I am looking for both the comerical and the home sim builders.

Your block says you're at Hill AFB...that's where the A-10 system manager is located. Perhaps you could walk in and ask them who makes the sim.

When you say \"commercial\", what exactly do you mean?

Coach,

Commerical would be the manafactures who makes the sims for the Air Force.

Is anyone building an A-10 sim at home like some do for the F-16?

I did not know that the A-10 system manager is at Hill.

There are quite a few board members at hill.

Last i heard the USAF A-10 simulator consisted of tossing a guy in a dumpster while a bunch of airmen shook it and threw rocks at it. ;)

Deadman,

What is the FMT?

I am looking for cockpits or items that make up cockpits.

Frank, As far as A-10 Flight Simulators go the FMT trainers have been around for a long time but, I'm not sure off the top of my head who built them.

Yes there are a couple of flight sim \"Games\" built around the A-10 but, only one in the past few years that I would consider an A-10 sim. It's not A-10 specific but, the A-10 is one of the main aircraft modeled. The game is titled \"Lock-on Modern Air Combat\" and was produced by a company called Ubisoft. I helped with this game and IMHO is the best combat sim to include the A-10. I think the game was, and the A-10 included in it was, updated a year or so ago and resold under the title \"Flaming Cliffs\" ...do a Google search and it should give you all the info you need.

I also think that Ubisoft was contracted by the USAF to write the software to update all the FMTs to the A-10C standard.

BTW I'm also at Hill AFB.

The trainer at Grissom AFB has a desk chair, you just provide your own sounds and movements.

Frank well you located in the right place for A-10 A cockpit control heads but none of it is cheap. For a cockpit the only place would be from the US Air force for a museum.Ther was just last week an ACES II ejection seat for the A-10 on ebay went for &1650 I think minus a few thing .My collection is nearly compleat for an A-10 A model and has taken about 5 years and more cash than i care to admit so good luck.

Here are s few sites on software

Current soft ware for the A-10 FMT is contracted by http://www.metavr.com/casestudies/a10.html

The desk top A-10 C simulator software were contracted by THE FIGHTER COLLECTION AND TOTAL IMMERSION SOFTWARE

The FMT A-10 A cockpit were made by L3 there was just an update on
http://warthognews.blogspot.com/2008/11 ... agery.html
on the simulator upgrade At Spangdahlem AB but i could not find it

I know I'm a \"Die Hard Hog Keeper( Old timmer), and miss those days\"
But to go out and buy my own \"ACES II\", Panels, throttles, stick etc... I'm not that Die Hard.

Hats off to you folks that are building your own Cockpits , but unless it comes with a Pilot, and it flies sorties or Combat missions I'll just stick to
\"The Good ol' Days\"
