It seems I lost my domain name to a Russian company while TDY to Luke! They copied my site and is now mirroring it. I'm trying to get the content deleted but, it may be a long battle. I'm going to get a new domain and change the site but, for right now the Warthogpen is off limits!

If you know anyone who visits my site or has a link to it on their site please pass the word to take the link off and delete the site from their bookmarks.

Sorry to everyone about this.

Dice, had your domain registration run out? if so how long ago because it's supposed to be put on hold for 3 months you may be able to get it back via ICANN here's the link for the info http://www.icann.org/en/udrp/

Looks like he's useing a company called RU Center http://www.nic.ru/ as his Registrar. You might try contacting them about this, even if you can't get your domain back, they may make him remove your copywritted material.

I know people that could, uh, ask him politely to remove it. Yeah, politely.

Thanks for the info Hitler I'm working through a couple of channels trying to get my content deleted from the site, just have to wait and see how it all works out.

Loosing the domain was my fault and it happen because of a lack of communication between myself the the domain provider. They did hold it for 45 days but, because of changing email providers on my part I didn't get the emails telling me it was expiring.

I know how you feel dice; I have had it happen to me a couple of times over the years. These people wait for domains to become available, purchase it and eventually replace your data with paid per click link lists so they can make a quick buck. Problem is it comes at the expense of your years of hard work and dedication. Sorry but this kind of stuff really ticks me off. Oh well we live and we learn. If you need any help with a new site or your design, you know you can count on me brother.

Dice,

I can also help you if you need it! A few basic rules are the best start. the first thing you don't want to loose is your domain name. Then pay your host server fees on time. It seems pretty simple but if you forget about one or the other, you are in the mess!
I am taking care of 3 sites altogether since the late 90s! Never crashed! Still flying! :D

Hog rules! (everywhere but in the Northeast! :( )

Hey, Dice, sorry to hear about your dilemma. I'll get rid of warthogpen links asap.

I host websites via a reseller account through Hostgator. If you are looking for a new home, I would be happy to hook you up. I'm sure I can make you a deal that would be hard to beat.

I recommend Godaddy as a registrar. Their website is saturated with advertising, but they are king of the hill, dirt cheap and I've never had a problem. (They are also very good at reminding you to keep your contact info updated)

From what I have heard, Enom is also a good registrar, and possibly less hassle to use, but more expensive.

Thanks for the offers to help, I'll get with you guys if I need something. Just so you guys know I have a web provider in the form of Pete Nelson (this sites owner) so I don't have to worry about that. I also have a new domain name now but I'm not going to activate it until I redo my site. This all sucks but, it was my fault for loosing the domain name. Now if I can get my old site deleted from the new \"owner\"!

BTW my new site will be www.thewarthogpen.com

Congrats, Dice-man! After your latest reply I just changed the link to your brand-new URL http://www.thewarthogpen.com in my left sidebar (section \"Other A-10 Sites\") on Warthog News. Glad to see that all of your previous important content is secured online again (especially your unique Ladder Door Art photo collection). I like it.

Forget the topic headline \"Stay away from the Warthogpen!\" - Visit the NEW http://www.thewarthogpen.com
