I just saw the \"Biggest , Stupid bunch of ----- \" in a long time yesterday at my County Board meeting. They Deicided that the \"Roads are more important than the Sheriffs Department and Cut his Budget by 25%\" while giving them a 100% increase!.
So They will loose 6 Deputies and 1 Dectives, and they Cut the State's Att. Office by over 1/2 and he looses 5 of his 8 people in the office.

We have 25 County Board members , Which is more than Chicago has (

But before you make a \"Judgement call here the Whole board is Republican\". Our County Clerk and Teasure were Convicdited of 6 Felonies and will be sent to Prison in December after 2 years of \"F-ING AROUND\" but they drew full pay at the same time.

But these \" Have little \"Groups \" who \"Don;t like the Sheriff. the reason??? Because he won't let them \"Slide or their Friends and Family out of DUI's or Speeding tickets or Pouching etc...

So before they Voted Yesterday the Public got a chance to Speak. People were worried about their familes saftey , and the increase of crime.

When I got up there after I had to take the Mic, Then I said \"I want to Face the Board, I'm not speaking out here in the hall\" so I went inside to the Packed house and in front of those 25 members, after seeing 4 sleeping and 3 talking and Joking in the Back while people were talking, (I was stuck out in the hall but could see thru the side door what the back 2 rows of the board was doing)

I got up front and Introduced myself for those who didn't know me and told them they were making a \"Hughe mistake\", and need to rethink this or they might as well Deputizes all of us because the Drug's and CRIME will go Grazy again Until Sheriff Joe Kick some Ass 5 years Ago and The Sheriff has Kept it up after JOE left.\" While I was talking the same ones were \"Shooting the Breeze still\" and I used a USAF Speaking leasson.

Now, I'm up Here! Look at me, if I'm boring you, then you can leave until I'm Done, But I have to give you Respect so You can atleast Pretend to show the People of the County Respect as We talk to the Board\".

Boy, That Really \"Pisst them Old SOB'S OFF\" but I got their attentions.

I asked them \"So When You cut the Sheriffs Staff and the States Att. office , how do you want us to take care of the crime ??\" \" Some of us are luck enough to be Vet's which 40% of the County is, We know how to Defend our Familes, but what about the Familes that Don't???\"

It takes 45 mins if a Deputy is in the far South West Corner of the County and a call comes in for help in the Far North East, thats going 90+ MPH. Thats with 12 Deputies now we alreay are short 5.
So When that 911 call comes in from a Guys Family who has people breaking in at 0005 hrs while he works a night shift 50 miles, They stay on the line with the 911 Center and they get in, they don't have a Firearm, The 1 Deputy is still Hauling ASS trying to get there and they Hear a scream and the line goes dead. 20 mins later the 1 Deputy shows up , by hiself because he has No back up as normal, and goes in and finds a Mother and small Childern laying on the floor, a sight no-One wants to see. The Husband and Father gets there and see's what happened to family and asked \"WHY????

So Does the County have enough money to cover the Lawsuit that they will get Slapped with by Big Lawyers from the City and They'll win, Plus Each and Everyone of you Who Voted to approve this Budget can be Sued by their self too\"
Isn't tat right Jim\"??? ( Jim is the States Att. was my Lawyer for 10 years before getting elected)

I then said \"Plus I hear some of you over at the Liars table and \"Tell the others How to Vote\" before the meetings if they want to get Re-Elected\".

Well what the Hell is this ?? The USSR???Or do some of you got a hand up your Butt moving your mouth????

My last thing is , Do you know What happens when Crime goes up?? Your Property Insurance Goes-up, So You Tight Wads, that don't want the 1/2 sales tax basically that will come from people coming thru town, You can pay like the rest of us the extra $300-700 a year for insurance not including replacing what was stolen.

In Closing I don't want to be another \"Farmer fixing to go on trail next Month, after being robbed and his Wife Assulted the 3rd time in less than a year he defended his Property, He didn't mean to Kill that girl , but they tried to run him over.

But Jim is charging him with 2nd degree murder , or Manslaughter.

Jim you better get more money because You'll being getting more work because I'll defend my Family, I rather be Judge by 12 then carried by 6.

Good on ya! Goose. I'm thinking the best way to repay the standing board members is to first sue the bastards and then vote them out of office.

I think I'd also be looking seriously at moving to another county.

I haven't hunted deer in about 10 years. I do like spring squirrel season though. Not too fond of the colder hunting seasons in my older age i guess.

I'll back Law enforcement here, I know all the Deputies and the Sheriff personally, plus the 911 center operators. The States Att. was my Lawyer for years , and he was good for me. He is being \"Forced to try that Farmer\"
He won't get convicted.
But when a few people have a \"Agenda\" against the Sheriff because he \"Up Holds His Oath of Office\" and not giving special \"Deals\" for these \"ASS HOLES\" friends, well

I 'll back him up! They don't bother anyone about their firearms in fact he was one of the Sheriffs that wrote a letter saying he Wanted to give All of Us in the County the right to Carry& Consealed Weapons.

Plus no Murder or Major crime has ever gone unsolved in this county. They have always been caught. The Lawyers have always gotten Convictions and Hard time for the ones gulity.

I love this County, I'm not going to Run, because of a small group of \"ASS HOLES\" who have an Agenda.

Will voted them out, If we have to pass the bucket to keep the Sheriffs Department going everyone is on board.

Plus we're getting a Vote put on the Ballot to cut the board in 1/2 and that No one on the County Board can Sell, do Buisness, or make any profit from being on the County Board or it will be against the County rules and they'll be removed and Sued.
I already sells insurance to the County, another sells the Trucks and Cars, another provides the Equipment etc.... , When we have other people in town that can provide it for less.

Good for you then! Stick it out and if possible, find a way to stick it to them. Maybe you should think of running in the next election. I'd doubt you could possibly do any worse than they have. Hell, you sound like you are just what that county needs. A real fighter who keeps the needs of the people in the forefront.

IP , That has been brought up to me. I have to Check with the VA if I can under my current rating.
The position is only $9,000 a year plus COLA. COLA at $40 a day on top of a $60 meeting no matter if you only tay an hour or 8 .

My idea is no COLA unless you spend 8 hours and you get only $30 for less then 4 hours ,

Why do you need $4o for COLA???? Most go home to eat.
If they go to a Resturant in town they eat free anyway.

Went i left active duty i was pursuing different careers to find my place in life. As most of you know nothing feels better that having a mission. When you become service oriented whether it be from having a family, serving in a religious organization, the government or military service. You seek out employment that will meet that.

I worked for a Sheriffs office and for the Secret service over the course of 8 years. My last gig was the Olympics before i sought out the defense industry. From my experience in both state and federal law enforcement I have saw many sides to the \"public service funding issue\" Its a nightmare.

You did the right thing Goose. I Would prefer to see 5 extra deputies and prosecuters more than 5 extra ditch diggers.

The whole problem is in the way we see or expect the treatment of the penal system.

the problem in america is that its about quality of comfort over accountability. This goes for inmates and employees.

Back in the old america Jail was refereed to as the house of pain. It was enough tough love to reinforce personal accountability in peoples actions.

Today it is no longer the case.

In 1998 I arrested a DUI motorist 4 times in the same day, impounded 4 of the owners vehicles and in-processed him to the jail. I have to admit that the detainee was back home sooner and faster than i was to return to my patrol area around Huntsville-Pineview lake area in the upper weber county valley. a valley which of course is separated from the Wasatch mountains and a deadly multiple blind corner canyon requiring 15 minutes of driving time to complete. the same key route that families take to and from their places of work, and recreation.

Imagine the fallout had this individual been involved in a auto-ped or autio-auto collision.

Guess what my solution was? I drove him home from the jail, walked into his home and took the remaining car keys from his home. and parked in his drive way the remainder of my shift.

I was then ordered to return the keys and leave the proximity of his residence by his civil attorney.

4 patrol camera films recordings. 4 field sobriety tests. a PBT test, also blood drawn at the jail. plenty of evidence collected.

The end of the dilemma. The individuals charges were dropped, all because i entered his home (with permission) requested his remaining car keys, and was parked outside his residence. all of which was recorded on patrol camera and audio.

Even with the best intentions, self defense, following official procedure or trying to implement an action to protect the public. your hosed in todays America.

you cant take the law into your own hands as a citizen, you cant enforce the law as a sworn officer.

Todays America is the land of Hugs kisses and teddy bears. I left the SHerrifs office shortly aafter and went to the federal govt. I saw my own sort of shams there as well.

As long as the public feels that public safety and the rule of law is not in their best interest these issues will continue

Since i have lived in Japan for the past 2 years. I have colunteered at the Japanese National Police academy. Their approach is unique and differnt. Some are quite great, and others are hokey at best.

I understand if a citizen does not want to be hassled by a pack of wolves in police cars on the street. But if you didn't have the fined tuned eyes of a hunter seeking out crime, then its just a matter of law enforcement by Battle damage assessment.
