WOW, love the pistol grip stock and the sights. Does the reflex sight affect your cheek weld at all, and is it mounted to the receiver or the stock? So, have you fired it yet? Hows the balance and the feel? Recoil? Action speed? Don't hold back, enquiring minds want to know.
I have to admit that 10 rounds in the tube is awesome, but with a 26" barrel, isn't that a bit un-wieldy? I have a 20" on my mossy 590 and I feel it's too long, especially for in the home, and have been thinking about buying another 18" 500. Of course, I still have to pay off my new O/U first.
My Benelli is my "final protective fire" home defense weapon, meaning that it'll be used from a hunkered down position in my safe room, at someone kicking through the door. So for that mission, it's huge girth is not a hindrance, whereas it's long 26" barrel and adds tremendous velocity and hitting power. The 10 shot tube gives me a ton of firepower.
The Speedbead sight gets sandwiched between the stock and the receiver. It doesn't interfere with weld at all, and is lighting fast. It also gives a dead on co-witness sight picture with the ghost ring sights.
Recoil even with full power magnum loads is light due to the weight of the weapon. Balance is front heavy, but again...it's a static defense weapon. (I also have a 3 shot mag cutoff tube in case i want to go hunting with it).
Pattern with the spreader choke is about the same as what you'd get with a cylinder bore choke from an 18" barrel. I also have a poly choke for it too. With the poly set to extra full, it patterns like a world class hunting arm (which it really is).
The Benelli M1S90 action is legendary for reliability, smoothness and speed.
