Well, I never thought I'd do it, but after 20 years on the A-10, I changed units and am now working KC135R's.
I really thought I'd finish out on my beloved Hogs, but it was time for a change.
I'm back at Grissom and it was like old home week. Many of the folks I worked with on A-10's with the 930th are with the tankers there now so it was an easy transition.
The CFM56/F108 is an amazing engine. These engines have more on wing time than the A-10's have for the whole airplane in 20 plus years of flying!!!
One thing that really tells about A-10 mechanics.....even though the A-10s left Grissom 9 years ago, the folks that transfered over to the tanker side are still refered to by their in place tanker counterparts as the "A-10 guys".
Anyway......My best to you all that still keep our beauties flying. Now I'll be looking at them from the the refuelers window in the back of the Tankers.
Cheers
