I also saw that documentary. The F-16 had a very limited scope of ability at the time... most of them didn't use LGBs, primarely Mavericks and unguided bombs... in that situation the A-10 was way better because it is more rugged and reliable. The newer F-16s do a great job of supporting the A-10s though.

I know they can do a lot more now, but in 91, when Horner was talking about, they were very limited.

To their credit they are top of the line fighters now.

Someone needs to talk LockMart into building a carrier version, lol.

We should have let the commies carve up Germany & France, look at Poland and the Czech Republic, they support us without hesitation. 50 years under the Soviet Thumb would have really gone a long way to humble those rejects, not that history should have humbled them enough already.
