Just been visiting ACIG, and i am wondering why you let that guy Kurt just absolutely trash and slander the A-10 so badly without a peep.

Cuz, im dissapointed. :(

I for one was not about to let anyone talk about the grunts like he does without reprisal. What a bitter, bitter fellow he is.

For anyone interested, here is the thread in question....

Sniper, I've battled with Kurt for a few years now and he's been banned from sites like SimHQ.com and Frugals world because there is no talking to him. In fact he was banned from SimHQ because of a thread with Andy Bush (X A-10 pilot) where he was debateing, with Andy, on fighter (and A-10) tatics and it got nasty!

When asked Kurt will never tell where his indepth knowledge comes from or why his views are more valad than anyone elses. He will just contune posting his loooong posts ignoring any requests on his background. I just don't have time for it, check out this thread or do a google search on his name.....

BTW the guy who started this thread is a Hornet driver (Jarhead)

Dice, thanx for the heads up on this guy.

I felt like jumping through the screen and ripping his lungs out when i read his statement "A single airframe is not worth losing over some grunts, and any pilot that does should be courtmarshalled"

WTF?

BR, it takes 24 hours to access the private forums, after you register, you should be able to get into them tonight.

SORRY,
BUT I'M UNDER THE WEATHER SO I MIGHT SOUND "NUMB"

BUT THIS GUY HAS NEVER BEEN IN THE SERVICE,LET ALONE THE BOYSCOTTS,THE CLOSEST HE'S EVER BEEN TO A MILITARY JET OF ANY KIND IS IN WALMART IN THE MATCHBOX SECTION.
I HAVE FOUND OUT SURFING AND SUCH,YOU CAN BE BOOK SMART,QUOTE BOOKS AND USING THEM IN A THREAD,BUT UNLESS YOU KNOW FIRST HAND OR HAVE A UNDERSTANDING FROM A DIFFERENT PART
[bYOU CANT DO NOTHING BUT REPEAT THE SAME OLD CRAP OVER AND OVER!AND YOU CANT DEVIATE FROM THE SCRIPT!!!!

WE SEE IT HERE,SOMEONE TRIES TO QUOTE BOOKS AND STUFF LIKE IT WAS FIRST HAND ACCOUNTS BUT IN THE END IT SHOWS.

BUT ONE THING IS FOR SURE A SINGLE ENGINE AIRFRAME IS WORTH SAVING A FEW GRUNTS!!!!!!!!!!!!! BESIDES THE PILOTS WOULDNT HAVE IT ANYOTHER WAY THATS THE DIFFEREANCE FROM BOOK FACTS AND REAL LIFE

I always think of it like this when I think of my friends from college working normal jobs in the real world making 150k already.....

.....if they were sitting in a board meeting at GM, IBM, Dell, etc......and a grenade was thrown into the room, they would trample each other trying to get out of the door before it went off. In any branch of the military the race would not be towards the door but to cover the explosion up with your body before anyone else gets schwacked.

There are not many work environments where that level of trust between workers exists...

That does not mean people who do not or have not served in the military are not important or are any less of an American. It just means that personally, I would rather be in that type of an environment doing that type of job, actually doing something that has meaning instead of working just as hard for a TON more money, hating what I do, living only for the weekends, working with people I do not respect, etc....It is pretty silly when military people take a holier than thou attitude but even worse when non military people who have no idea what it is like start piping up with all sorts of stupid ideas and thoughts with no care in the world about what being in the military is all about.

Why was it when Dice said "Kurt" I knew the Kurt he was talking about? He used to post on the Usenet group rec.aviation.military, usually posts that were VERY long, and packed with so much jargon and acronyms that usually whatever useful info was in them was incomprehensible! I saw him get in several arguments about tatics with several ex-Air Force pilots. He dropped off there a year or two ago, and posted to the message board at Hyperscale for awhile. I haven't seen him there for some time. I wondered what happened to him.

Correct me if I'm wrong. But the bad part of that might not be arguing perse'. As opposed to the fact he's quite possibly a civy acting like he knows tactics better than those ex-pilots.
Arguing would be one thing. But not as bad if you stick to things you know.Experienced.

Example: Debating with that one Army Ranger, Grimes, about Sumatran or Columbian coffee, which is better.

Grappeling, in case of a debate, would be willing to go against a Soldier in a grappeling match to see which differing tactic works better.

Hehe. Practical jokes, the layout of a room and the best way to sneak up on someone in the dark with a can of shaving cream.

But I assure you that I'm a firm believer in never:

Telling Goose the proper way to do repairs on an A-10.

Telling Roots what "E" stands for on the fuel gauge

Or tell Snipe which end the bullet comes out at.

All that will accomplish is being pictured as having a set of Donkey ears, if you catch my drift, by anyone that would be on the other side of some know-it-allism like this Kurt seems to enjoy spewing.

Putting it shortly & sweetly. Debating is ok, not knowing your limits isn't.

Liberal bastards. I fart in thier general direction--Poke

Edited to add: It just let me in. I guess I should be more patient, hunh? And I'm reading that thread...

LOL...he's gotten a major league throttling, several times. That's how he ended up at that board.

I hammered him a few times on bad info he posted but my God it takes so long to read and reply to him it's just not worth it.

My biggest grip with him is the fact he will not say if he has ever been military or not (I don't think so) so his opinions as meaningless to me!
