I just thought you would like to know 666 is no longer in long term storage. It has been towed over for wing removal. How strange nobody wants to start working on it.

So the Demon jet returns!! <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle> I will have to keep-up on which jet gets 666s wing, it will be interesting to keep an eye on her and see how she does!

Thanks for the info Goob...anyway to get a picture of 666 before the wing comes down but after the 'white" wrapping comes off? If not from you I can contact Jeff at AMARC.

The demon jet rides again.......

They do not pull the wrap off they work around it.I will try to get som pics from the (wingless) row for you it realy looks strange.

I swore i just looked at 666 at the HAFB museum? Are we talking the Same Hawg?

MrMudd, there are two 666s, A 1975 and 1979 model. The one at AMARC has a long histroy which I will try to post tomorrow. Thanks Goob!

Yes, one of the first six built and used for DT&E, they were then redesinated A-10As after all testing was complete.

Dice, are you sure the 666 is a 1975 model? I thought the '75 models were 258-309.

Sparticus has seen this aircraft. The tail number of the Hill AFB Ut museum A-10 is "73-0666"

You guys are right, that's what I get for not checking my list! <img src=icon_smile_blush.gif border=0 align=middle> The Hill AFB jet is 73-666 and the one at AMARC is 78-666. At least I keep you guys on your toes trying to keep me stright! <img src=icon_smile_blackeye.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_cool.gif border=0 align=middle>

BigRoss, yes I do and that's what I meant by "not checking my list". Sometime I try to work off memory and I shouldn't do that...to many beers and to few brain cells left! <img src=icon_smile_shock.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_dead.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_approve.gif border=0 align=middle>
