Well, the 2 billion is a conservative guess for what it would cost to fix the wings(in addition to hog up).

So that's where i got that figure, and it is a pretty accurate number...i have a VERY good source.

I've been following this forum for a few months now. I've enjoyed reading the posts, sometimes almost falling out the chair laughing (hell, it beats working) So I thought it was time to join in, so Hi from the UK...

I just want to say that I'm not involved with the Hog in any professional way, I don't fly them, I don't fix them so all this is just IMHO

I've always liked the damn ugly S.O.B since I first clapped eyes on it.

Then when I saw footage of it ripping some ground targets apart I knew it was true love…

I appreciate anything that was built for a purpose with no compromises to beauty pageants or pen pushers. The Hog was built for one reason and one reason only, to take a beating and to give that beating back and then plenty more on top.

Unfortunately I think the days were a single platform is built for a single purpose have gone. Everything has to be multi role and multi theatre and therefore multi likely to fall out the sky when one of the computers goes FUBAR.

It reminds me of a warning I read on the box of a very nice and expensive lock knife I once bought.

I think a few folks high up in your government should read the above before they try and shoehorn some high tech, clean and shiny computer driven toy into a mud pluggers role.
