The F-15 is the P-51 of the cold war, how can you not like such a perfect air to air killing machine? Perfect in more ways than one, like its kill record.

It's not a plane.
It's a twentieth century work of engineering art.

In the future, the next fighter kill record will mostly likely be which strike aircraft has bombed the most HAS's

...Or not, time will tell.

It is a work of art....a very expensive one. But like i said elsewhere, you get what you pay for. :)

Engineering work of art??? It's the hugest piece of CRAP to maintain!!! I'd like to slap MD engineers in the back of the head and ask them "WTF were you thinking???"!!!

Correction then: It's the best aircraft flying that shows how much crew chiefs are so important to the service.

Wonder what the problem is the most?
Accessability, engines, avionics?...

Thr biggest problem that I've found with it (10 years crewing A-10's and 7 years crewing F-15's) is that the F-15 wasn't designed with the maintainers in mind. The A-10 was so easy to work on. It also needs a barage of life support equipment (Aerospace Ground Equipment) just to ops check systems. The A-10 could use the APU for electrical power and Hydraulic power. Basically the A-10 was user friendly where the F-15 is not. Don't get me wrong, the Eagle is extremely effective for what it does. It just needs to get airborne first to do it...

I'm not going to argue...but I was an crewed A & B Models at Jacksonville ANG...and worked as an F-15 Mechanic at Warner Robins (Depot) for two years before going to Quality...it isn't that bad...but that's just my opinion...maybe I like a challenge & hard work...I love the F-15...but she doesn't come close the the Hog...that is why my cube is full of A-10 pictures...and we don't touch the A-10 at Warner Robins...
