I never said the F-14 would match up favorably against a SU-30MKI in that situation...In fact since you obviously are such a student on the internet, read my first post...Here, I will make it easy and quote it for you.

That was stated in my 4th post, after in fact Vette, bless his heart stated that the F-14D would match up favorably in DACT against the SU-MKI...Pay attention little buddy...

No, the lesson is that we need a 5th generation fighter capable of air dominance over such foes. The F-22 is just that plane...Your little Super Bug is obviously not...A rigged exercise? lol, so I guess we only engage hostile aircraft on our terms, when things are hunkey dorey for us? No... The concept of the F-22, like the F-15A, was a no compromise air superiority fighter aircraft, that can defeat any potential adversary anytime, anywhere...Even in what you label a "rigged exercise" The F-18E/F being the 4.75 generation fighter that it is, does not stand much of a chance against the SU-30 unless the engagement is BVR, and Navy ROE's generaly stipulate that they cannot fire untill they are fired upon. So I guess your lesson should be, that the F-18E/F, with all of its compromises to aircraft like the SU-30 MKI should avoid "rigged engagements"...

I was (rather obviously) refering to your remark about TTW ratios and that "the F-14D is not at the gross disadvantage that you think it would be" and "Thrust vectoring gives the SU-30 superb agility in low speed realms, but todays F-14D is no slouch in that regard either".

First post? Fourth post which is it? Take a chill pill and decide which post and weather F-14 would match up or not.

Where did I insult anyone?

I made very fair remarks regarding the improvements of the F-14D with the DFC, and the fact that it moves well in that realm for a big jet...I don't feel it is a match for the SU-30 in that situation anymore than the F-15C was.

Read the posts, if we are going to start keeping score look where I was labled as "fanatic"...I am the first to admit that I can be fanatical about things, but if a person does not have passions in life than they are a pussy.

It's not what you said, it's how it 'read', at least to me.

South Africa has not and will never fly the Mirage 2000. The DACT they did back in 1996 was with Cheetah-C fighters which are as capable as the Kfir. Those faced MiG-29s in a turning battle with a HMS.

This Su-30MKI scare is just to push the F/A-22A.
