I just had a thought about a plane design I've been thinking about. It's all in my head, most likely the only place it'll come to life is in my stories, but I had a thought about the canopy design, and wanted to make sure it works.
The thought was to have a three or four slab window, somewhat similar to that on the F-117. Problem is, the original concept wouldn't have a back window, though that could be fixed. Thinking about how to redesign it, I remembered I thought I'd read something about a system designed for the F-35 that "provided 360 degree vision", IIRC. Not sure how this would work, if it's real. I don't always believe what I read.
An evolved form would utilize a neurolink to plug you in, so a window isn't even nessacary, really. Just for emergencies, though if you loose the computers, you've lost enough capability that you probably wouldn't make it out of the fight if you had to revert to manual control. But, with the first versions having conventional manual controls, you'd be using your eyes as a primary input device.
I'm just checking to see if I should put in a back window, or would such an avionics system work?
