I'm building a model of a Desert Storm A-10 and was wondering where the appropriate places to hang RBF flags would be. Also, my loadout will include Mk. 82 slicks, AGM-65s, and AIM-9s. Where would the flags be located on these weapons as well?
Thanks,
Len

Let's see...theres quite a few.
-At the top of each drag strut actuator you have the gear saftey pin on the right side of each of them. The pin goes from front to back.
-In the nose gear well at the bottom right side about in the middle is the slat pin
-In the main gear pods just foward of the strut on the outboard side is the chaff/flare pins.
-The external battery pin is on the left side of the jet, towards the nose. It is the first small panel, about 2 feet foward of the leading edge of the ladder door.
-Every station that has munitions on it has a pylon pin going from left to right (so the streamer would be on the left side) centered on the pylon a few inches above the bottom of the station.
-During WWDS the ECM pod was on sta 11 and the AIM-9 was on sta 1. Those stations are pinned, but do not have a streamer becuase the jet flies with those both pinned. They are saftey wired to the pylon.
-There is on on the AIM-9 rail towards the front going from the top down. There is also normally one on the AIM-9 dome protective cover.
-The streamer on the MK-82 is on the nose of the bomb.
-It's been a while since I've seen a live mav, but I dont remember there being any pins on the missle itself.

If you are doing the cockpit also, there is one coming off the throttle cover, on on the canopy jettision handle (right side console, all the way foward), and the seat pitot tube covers.

OK, now that I've just typed all of that, I remembered there was a thread not to long ago with pictures of the most outstanding model I have ever seen. These pictures should answer any questions you have.
