Well, at least it's new to me. Not an A-10 but it's got a big freakin gun..an AC-130.

Hate to disaggree with you Chief, I do have all the respect for you in the world, but I think that video is really from a Bradley or some other ground based platform. If it were an AC-130, the viewpoint would be in constant motion from left to right, but through the whole video, the viewpoint stays static. Also the AC-130 has either a 105mm, a 40mm bofors or either the 20mm or 25mm vulcans to choose from. The 105 don't fire that fast, neither does the 40, and both the 20 and 25 vulcans fire much faster.

Judging by the rate of fire, and the lack of liner movement of the camera, I'm guessing the 25mm chain gun on a Bradley. I've spent several nights on the Roger E. Young Range on the south end of the Fort Carson MOA and heard those 25mm's before. Almost the exact same rate of fire.

Still, a kick a$$ video. Thanks for the link. One for my collection to be sure.

Don't think its a bradley...the angle just seems wrong...maybe a cobra or Apache? But who knows....

Yep, I didn't think about an AH-64. That has about the same rate of fire with it's 30mm chain gun, and has the video equipment.

Good point.

Definatly Apache, I recognize the HUD/IHADS symbology.

A 45 has a muzzle.
A 9mm has a bullet vent.

Okay, that answers some questions I had about the whole thing, like how the perspective remained constant. The link was sent to me from an AC-130 type and I just assumed..my bad.

Yeah it does, you just have to jump through some hoops.
Scroll to the bottom of the first page and click "FREE".
In the middle of the next page you see a countdown for your "download ticket" ( your "mother may I" lol ) then on the next page you'll be asked to input a three letter code to prove you arnt a bot ( cause we dont want them watching vids ).
The vid is the one from a few years ago with the FLIR HUD video of
the locals running back and forth from a tractor in a plowed field and throwing some kind of weapon (RPG or heavy gun )in the field, lots of cross-talk for the AH-64 to get permission to cut down on them, then he does lol.

A 45 has a muzzle.
A 9mm has a bullet vent.

Thanks Boomer,

But when I tried again it told me to wait for 15 minutes and that's when I gave up...

Apache.

Oddly enough, it only had a 25% gun load on board.

Just posted a reply but it aint there so

Anyways, the clip is from the 1st Batt /101st Airborne

After OIF they pulled out the fuelcell and ammo drum (magazine) and installed what they call a Robbie tank where the ammo drum had been. The new magazine is smaller now by nearly 300 rds. It had carried 500 rds now only 202rds. They wanted to get more range out of the aircraft

Where does that info come from? My manual says UP TO 1200rds, depending on mission reqs.

A 45 has a muzzle.
A 9mm has a bullet vent.
